As part of the OTTPOL project, a database on Ottoman Political Thought was developed, available online through the present website. The database aims to trace ideas and themes of Ottoman political thought through a broad spectrum of Ottoman intellectual production. Extensive summaries of the works studied, some of them difficult to be found otherwise, are made available to researchers and students interested in Ottoman history, political science, narrative strategies, etc. Users may refer to the database as an encyclopaedia of Ottoman political thinking, as one can find information on the background (education, career etc.) of every author, on the manuscripts and editions of their works, and so forth; what is more important, the thematic units composing every work have been indexed under several categories, so that users may trace the development and appeal of different themes and ideas through time.
