The author held surely some official post in the palace; the details he gives on the janissaries’ history and structure imply that he was closely related to that corps. However, a strong emphasis on the ulema and the şeyhülislam in the end of the treatise might imply even a second author. In general, the relationship of this text with Hüseyin Hezarfen’s Telhisü’l-beyan makes every identification unsafe.
